Commission: Woven Wall Hanging
Weaving commission to create a wall hanging inspired by Scottish Folktales. Inspired by Scottish folktales surrounding Corryvreckan Whirlpool, the piece depicts a Norse Kings boat, moored at the whirlpool, with only three ropes to hold it there for three days and three nights - all to impress the father of a local princess. In turn each rope snaps, the last being made of maidens hair. The maidens purity was meant to make the rope unbreakable, however she wasn’t truly honest, and as a result the boat was lost to the sea.
